On the Twin Cities to Chicago main line in 1986-1987, there was very, little traffic west of Stevens Point, as the Soo shut the line down after the Milwaukee Road merger. This local served the industries at New Richmond and headed back east. You can see the welded rail main is engulfed with weeds, and alot of us wondered if maybe this was the end of this line. |
