This is a picture of the dinner train as it was heading uphill near Oak Glen Golf Course and is actually the rear of the train. This train ran from 7/10/1987 until 12/31/2008 and carried close to one million people. I was very, actively involved with the MTM which ran this line from 1987 to 1991. |

Stopped at the west end of the line at Duluth Jct, the dinner train stopped for about 30 mn before heading back on its leisurely trip to Stillwater. This was the 2nd winter it was running, and ridership was strong. The 787 is now in Colorado someplace along with the cars. |

A front view of the westbound train as it climbs the Browns Creek grade on its 5.5 mile slow run towards White Bear Lake. This was a high point for this old branch line from 1987 to 1991, as it was hauling over 75,000 people per year, on the two trains running on the line in those years, with up to 10 trains travelling the line on weekend days. |
